Abstract

Large-scale power grid Internet of Things deployments typically involve heterogeneous terminals distributed across wide geographic regions. In such environments, device maintenance and software upgrades represent a major operational burden. A container-based management platform was deployed in a regional monitoring network to support remote configuration, version control, and incremental updates. Terminal services were encapsulated as lightweight containers and coordinated through a centralized orchestration layer. Update policies were designed according to network topology and load distribution. Operational data collected over nine months indicate a significant reduction in large-scale update failures and manual intervention. The results demonstrate that container abstraction can improve maintainability in critical infrastructure systems when combined with domain-specific control strategies.
