Abstract

Augmented reality systems are increasingly used to support equipment inspection and industrial maintenance tasks. While technical feasibility has been widely demonstrated, user experience challenges remain underexplored. This paper investigates physical discomfort, attention switching, and cognitive load in prolonged AR-assisted workflows. Observations focus on visual occlusion, gesture fatigue, and information density. Field feedback suggests that interface minimalism and adaptive information layering are critical for sustained usability. Hardware performance alone does not determine long-term acceptance.
